Are you ready to start your fitness journey, but don’t have a gym membership? Do you want to get a great workout in the comfort of your own living room? Well, then this post is for you! 

The first time I got into fitness, I was 14 years old. I didn’t know where to go or what to do. I depended entirely on fitness videos that were on TV. Man, those were trying times. Now with the surge of Health and Fitness YouTubers, you have plenty of options to get in a great workout at home — even if you are a complete beginner.

So without further ado, here are my top 10 free at-home beginner workout videos (man, is that a mouthful or what?!). Let’s go!

1. POP Pilates for Beginners: Total Body Workout

This workout was the first one I ever completed on YouTube. And let me tell you, it made me SO SORE the next day. This 30 minute workout will tone your abs, your arms, and your legs. All of the moves are simple and easy to follow. Plus, Cassey is so upbeat and energetic, it feels like you’re working out with a friend right in your living room.

2. LIVESTRONG.COM Plank Challenge

Oh, the plank. I have such a love-hate relationship with that thing. But honestly, it is a great way to tighten your core and burn fat. This video from Livestrong Women gives tons of great variations and modifications.

3. Fitness Blender Beginner Bootcamp Workout

When I was in college and wanted to ease myself back into the fitness world, I looked to Fitness Blender to get me there. Their videos range from total beginner to fitness master and they have a giant library to help you complete your goals. Definitely check them out.

4. Jen Sinkler Beach Party LWF Challenge Video

I love these workouts from Jen Sinkler because she gives an actionable list for you to complete, then goes ahead and breaks down all of the exercises on the list. That means that if I want to use her workout in the gym, then I totally can!

5. Tony Horton Quick Isometric Workout

Tony Horton is a huge fitness name. The creator of P90X and P90 has  a YouTube channel and is here to help you reach your fitness goals. I personally love his commercial break series. They’re quick workouts you can do during the commercials while watching TV. Awesome!

6. Ballet Basics with Tracey Mallett

I took a ballet class once. I lasted a whole one day there, but it was still a pretty cool experience. If you ever wanted to get a taste of that formal dance training, then this workout is great. It teaches you the absolute basics and Tracey is very helpful with proper form.

7. Yoga with Adriene: 30 Days of Yoga Day 1

Yoga with Adriene is another YouTube channel that I go to any time I want a great workout at home. She is so knowledgeable and her voice is both calming and reassuring. This is the first video I stumbled upon of hers, but I love her entire channel. Definitely take a look at it if you are interested in doing yoga at all.

8. Benner Fit: Cardio Yoga Sculpt

When I think of yoga, I think of relaxing breathing while stretching and engaging my core. I definitely do not think of cardio. But Benner Fit’s Cardio Yoga Sculpt is great! I love how upbeat she is and how much sense the moves make. If you want to try a new twist to your workouts, then give Cardio Yoga Sculpt a try!

9. Boho Beautiful: Easy Yoga for Beginners

Boho Beautiful makes me feel like I am workout out in the great outdoors — without having to actually leave my house. Her voice is so calm and she may be on the beach, but don’t let that fool you. Her videos are definitely a WORKOUT.

10. BodyFit by Amy: 20 Minute Beginner Bodyweight Workout for Fat Loss and Strength

BodyFit by Amy is the latest YouTube channel that I’ve come across — and oh man am I glad that I did. I love her instruction and the exercises she chooses for each workout are purposeful. She will definitely help you reach your fitness goals.

  1. I love my morning workouts, I love even more that I can do them in my house with YouTube. I usually do a morning workout with Joanna Soh, she has a bunch of low impact workouts so I don’t even have to get dressed first. My four year old and two year old often work out with me in the mornings and they love watching her because she’s so upbeat and encouraging.
